Read: “A person finds joy in giving an apt reply— and how good is a timely word!” (Proverbs 15:23)
Being invited to give prophetic words at an event, I took the time the night before to ask the Lord if there was anything He wanted to speak to me in advance. I immediately heard the word ”monotony”. I had an impression this word was for a gentleman and with the word, my mind was flooded with different pictures. As I waited for the Lord to unfold what He was saying, I felt strongly that this gentleman was discouraged, weary, and ready to throw in the towel. As I was writing things down, I saw a picture of a ripple effect and how one decision affects so much more than one is aware of. I also heard the saying “you don’t know what you have until it’s gone”. And then, I felt the Father’s heart. I sensed empathy, love, and compassion for this man, as well as a desire to comfort and alleviate his pain. Then I heard words of life,
“You matter! What you do is not only valuable, but necessary and essential. I see you. I hear your questions. I see your struggles. I hear your prayers and I see your tears. Keep doing what you’re doing because it has a great impact.”
Wow, even now I can still feel the intensity of love and comfort God had for this man!
The next day, the Holy Spirit highlighted to me an older gentleman and as I gave him this word, there was no facial expression to indicate if anything I was saying was hitting home. Nevertheless, at the end of the service, his wife shared with me how her husband was a priest in a small town, and how the day before he had shared with her that he didn’t think that what he was doing was important and was considering quitting. I had instant tears. Wow! A word from God changes everything!
